Clinical Nutrition
“ Centuries of consumer shopping have proven that you cannot shampoo health into your hair, brush health into your teeth, gargle health into your breath, smear health into your skin, pound health into your muscles, or paint health onto your face.” – Dr. Royal Lee
Health results from a balanced flow of life energy. Nutrition plays the key role in the production and management of that energy. Why? Because all energy on the Earth, as well as nutrition, originates from the sun. But humans and animals cannot absorb energy directly from the sun.
It is the plant that converts the sun’s energy into nutrients, which in turn feed our cell mitochondria to produce this dynamic life force for the body. Clinical nutrition is the study of the relationship between food and the well-being of the body. More specifically, it is the science of nutrients and how they are digested, absorbed, transported, metabolized, stored, and discharged by the body. Besides studying how food works in the body, our practitioners are interested in how the environment affects the quality and safety of foods, and how these factors Influence health and disease.
On your Initial consultation your practitioner will perform a thorough examination, which will include an interpretation based on medical history, family history, and personal lifestyle. You will be asked to bring a 3-day food diary and any herbs, supplements, or medicines that you take regularly. Laboratory tests might be used to find any deficiencies and test organ function. Lastly, a detailed computerized report called Biomeridian Assessment will be performed to determine areas of your body that have moved away from normal function. All this information will assist our practitioners in effectively formulating a comprehensive support program that includes whole food/Herbal Medicine supplementation regimen customized to your specific needs.
