My name is Maria Delgado and I am a board certified Acupuncture Physician in Miami with a practice focused on Functional Medicine. The goal of this blog is to create awareness and share content in the field of Clinical Nutrition, Functional Medicine and all that has to do with Holistic Health & Living.

My posts WILL challenge you to think differently about your health, it will make you question a lot of pre-conceived notions you have based on what's available though mass media, and hopefully inspire you to take action towards better health!

Why? It's simple, my mission is to help you achieve optimal health so that you may go on to pursue your purpose. We are all here in this world for a reason. We are all following our passions, our dreams, and desires to live a fulfilled life as parents, brothers, sisters, friends & business leaders. Unfortunately, for many of us that has become a life long struggle.

Being in practice for over 7 years and interacting with my patients, my observation has been that most of the problems that we face as a society come from within ourselves. How we feel about ourselves determines what outlook we have on life and how "fully charged" we feel about living. It's important to note that how we feel about ourselves is directly related on how our bodies are functioning. Staying in good optimal health is a crucial aspect of living this "fully charged" life. And this is where most people fail.

You see, many people want to pursue their dreams, they want to take risk and fill more fulfilled, but something stops them. The energy and that drive you need to charge forward is missing within you. From my experience, most of the time this is a result of a body being out balance both biochemically and energetically. What you feed your body and how you treat your body on a daily basis has a direct relationship on how you feel, how you feel affects how you carry yourself, how you carry yourself affects the relationships you're in, and the relationships you're in create opportunities to reach your goals both personal and in business.

I finished my 21 day detoxification and lifestyle program about 2 weeks ago. Before I started it, I thought it would be so hard to follow the rules about the food. I just wanted to take a moment and thank each of you for all you have done for me.

You know when I first went to your office I was extremely skeptical about every aspect of your office.  I had really given up with my type 1 diabetes, thyroid, diabetic neuropathy, graves disease, back pain and other factors in my life.

I have been going to conventional Dr.’s letting them know that I was always tired, even fatigued, feeling sick all the time, constantly in pain, not able to control my sugar levels and gaining weight even though I am on a low caloric diet because of my diabetes.  I never saw any results,  just a lot of tests, a lot of medication, no sympathy and no real solutions.  I quickly became depressed about my situation.
